"You have stolen. You have lied. And you've been greedy and selfish, haven't you?
-The Sad Ghost speaking to Ebenezer Boozoo
The Sad Ghost of Past Experiences, or The Sad Ghost, is a character that only appears in Boozoo’s Ghosts. He tries to help Ebenezer Boozoo to reform his ways, but is unsuccessful.
Appearance[]
The Sad Ghost closely has a design similar to Billy, as they both share the same basic clown design. He wears a green Phrygian cap adorned with yellow stars, a white trim, and a white ball at the end of the cap's cone. In addition, he wears a matching green shirt with five large yellow buttons (which initially look like two while inside of the giftbox) and a yellow pointed collar. He has puffy red hair stylized in a stereotypical clown hairstyle, a small, circular red nose, a white face, and two blacked-out eyes with dark blue teardrops underneath -- these could be actual tears or clown makeup, as teardrops are a common clown makeup motif. When singing, his hands are revealed as he sings "I don't want to hear you lie"; he wears yellow ruffled gloves.
When angered, he transforms and becomes very surrealistic in appearance. After rising from his giftbox, he doesn't seem to be in a state of disrepair like the other two ghosts are after transforming out of their cartoony initial appearances, as his clothing and hair are relatively clean (the darkness on the clothes is just harsh shading). His collar changes from having six visible points to four, and those four points have bells at their ends; it also changes in color, looking golden compared to the saturated yellow throughout his outfit. The Sad Ghost's green shirt is shown to actually be a leotard with a total of five yellow buttons, yellow ruffles at the end its short sleeves, and what appears to be a green and yellow striped undershirt. His hands are still covered by yellow ruffled gloves, and his legs are covered in green, presumably green tights. The tights and leotard, which are the same shade of green, are differentiated by yellow trimming the leotard's leg holes have.
The teardrops under his eyes have turned into black lines underneath his eyes, which could be cracks in his face to show deterioration, the makeup being distorted, or actual tear tracks. His nose is slightly distorted, drooping downward and connecting to his mouth. His mouth is open, unveiling human looking teeth as white as his face. To make things scarier, his mouth is drooping downwards in an abnormal way, appearing to have cut through his jaw skin completely on the right side of his face. His neck seems to be made out of metal, which is a feature the other two ghosts share.
Boozoo's Ghosts[]
The Sad Ghost of Past Experiences appears as the first ghost in the holiday special tape titled Boozoo's Ghosts in The Walten Files series. His purpose is to attempt to inform Boozoo of how awful he is, and to display Boozoo’s past sins and mistakes. The Sad Ghost sings a song to Boozoo about how he's wronged people with his greed and selfishness by always acting in his own financial interest (using the examples of Boozoo stealing money from Hidie and docking Banny's pay beforehand), and how he needs to accept his mistakes and regrets in order to change as a person and make him, the ghost, happy.
He then goes on to show him that he's become a greedy and selfish man who hates Christmas because he had a negative childhood as a result of not being given presents on Christmas. He goes on to tell Boozoo that he has time to fix his mistakes, but the man denies the ghost's statements and insists he's telling the truth, which angers him. He distorts, then warns him that he needs to change or else, quote, "I'll see you in hell". He then emits a repetitive audio glitch, and the screen Boozoo is displayed on turns red, only displaying his eyes. Boozoo then seemingly wakes up, only for the door leading out of his bedroom to turn into the door that will lead him to The Jolly Ghost.
Abilities[]
Note: This is speculation
Due to his nature as a ghost, his suspected abilities are:
- Being able to fit into a relatively small appearing giftbox
- Conjuring up images of people and places from a past time
- Being able to distort a person's perspective of their reflection
- Can create hallucinations and conjure up images to break down an individual’s psyche
- Can make self surrealistic when angered, becoming significantly taller and presumably more dangerous
Trivia[]
- Unlike the Billy from The Mysterious House, this version of Billy shares the same color palette as the original.
