"Oh Boozoo, you still don't understand do you? This is it! Like everything else in this world, we turn into nothing eventually. It has always been, and always will be this way my friend."

-Mortality to Ebenezer Boozoo after confronting him for the first time.

Mortality is a character that appears exclusively in Boozoo's Ghosts.

Appearance

Mortality is the second tallest character that appears in Boozoo's Ghosts, being slightly shorter than Jolly. His actual height is not confirmed but is theorized to be around 2.15 meters in his deformed state. Mortality takes the form of an organic looking giant bunny. Unlike the other bunnies in this series, Mortality doesn't appear robotic and doesn't have any part in his body made out of metal.

Mortality's body is made up of different types of wrapping paper, all with different colors and patterns. His face pattern is consistent however, and made up of white and green parts. Mortality seems to have a red endoskeleton which has a texture similar to chocolate. It can be seen easily as it makes up his hands and feet. Mortality seems to have red blood as seen through his many scars and stretch marks.

Boozoo's Ghosts

Mortality is the final ghost of the episode, appearing after Boozoo's encounter with The Jolly Ghost.

After Boozoo is confronted by the first two ghosts, Mortality confronts him. First Mortality explains to Boozoo his situation and what he is here to do, and tells him that he must take his life. Mortality does not go into detail about what Boozoo did to deserve this fate. After some time, Mortality sends Boozoo off to his specially labeled door.

After going through the door, Boozoo wakes up back in the Toy Shop. Everything seems to be back to normal. He attempts to apologize to Banny for everything that he has done, but he realizes that Banny is not actually there, but simply another illusion meant to trick him into a false sense of security. Boozoo tries to look around the shop for anyone else, only for the door to ring. Behind the door is Hidie, who slips Boozoo an invitation to his own funeral. After this, the entire toy shop other than one of the windows disappear into the darkness. Boozoo cries and screams as Mortality's face appears through the window, in its deformed state. Mortality proceeds to break through the window and sprint towards his unfortunate victim.

Boozoo is shown on his knees, sobbing. Mortality approaches him from behind. When Boozoo begs him for mercy, Mortality replies, "This is the end, Boozoo. This is all the result of your ignorance." Boozoo continues sobbing. A small child soon appears behind Mortality, clearly confused as to where he is. Mortality introduces this child as a young version of Boozoo. Boozoo pleads for the child to run, but the child simply stares at him, saying, "What is it?" before dying when Mortality touches him on the shoulder.

Mortality is soon shown alongside Jolly and Sad and Boozoo begs for them to help him to no avail as Mortality proclaims they are here to watch him die. He gives Boozoo a small present containing an alarm clock inside. After a few minutes of silence, it rings while Boozoo screams as his face melts and he dies.

Abilities

  • Super Human Strength - Easily broke through the window to the toy store. This is not confirmed however, the toy store is just an illusion and we don't know for sure if it behaves like a real toy store would.
  • Illusions - The toy store and the characters within all being illusions to trick and torture Boozoo.
  • Death Presents - The fan given name to what morality gives Boozoo. However, it's not the box itself that melts people, but what's inside that does. In this case, it was an alarm clock that finally kills Boozoo.
  • Shapeshifting - Mortality can change his shape to what extend is unknown however

Trivia

  • In a possible animation error, during the scene where he is introduced, Mortality appears as a disembodied head behind Boozoo.
  • Mortality seems to be inspired by "The Joker" a character from Batman: The Animated Series, with green, white, and purple being a prominent part of his color scheme, along with yellow eyes, and similar laugh.
  • Compared to Bon and Pumpkin Rabbit, Mortality seems to be the least malicious, as he tortured and killed Boozoo as more of a punishment, rather than for malice or some other reason.
  • In a deleted tweet Sadie, the voice actor for mortality stated that Boozoo would have been given a peaceful death, if he admitted to his own sins. This however is unproven.
  • Mortality's rat-like appearance was part of an inside joke between the creator of this wiki and their discord server, involving the phrase "Zoey likes the rat".
  • In China, giving people clocks as gifts is considered rude because it symbolises the end of time, thus explaining Boozoo's death when it rings.
