"What happened to my children?" - Jack to Felix Kranken
Jack Walten is a major character in The Walten Files. He was one of the co-founders of the Bon's Burgers Establishment.
History
Jack and Felix Kranken were good friends who came up with the idea for the Bon's Burgers restaurant. After graduating college, he married Rosemary Walten in 1959, and became the father to Sophie, Edd, and Molly Walten. Before the restaurant opened, Jack disappeared, having last been seen June 11, 1974. According to findjackwalten.com, he was born on September 23rd, 1932.
Appearance
Jack appears to be a standard Latino human male, with curly black hair that goes to his chin & a faint moustache. He only appears in black & white, but he's wearing what looks to be a black shirt with a white undershirt, a black tie, black dress pants, and grey dress shoes.
Welcome To Bon's Burgers
As described by Martin Walls, he took a role similar to the FNaF franchise's notorious William Afton.
Company Introductory Tape
He is seen shaking the hand of Felix Kranken on the founders' photo in the first part of the tape, as a recorded message from him and Felix plays out. He is also shown in a missing poster with his eyes and mouth twitching on the TV during the Little Bon's Neighborhood segment.
Relocate Project
The beginning tape is shown to attempt to remove any mention of Jack throughout its duration. However it is unsuccessful, as he still appears throughout as an abnormality. His name is seen crossed out on a file as Little Bon looks through a file cabinet, a sprite of his distorted face is seen driving the moving truck during an 8 bit scene where relocation of the animatronics to K-9 is shown, (presumably) his face swiftly moves across the TV screen that Bon and Sha are on as the narrator discusses merchandise opportunities and a tape with the name, "The Disappearance of Jack Walten" is seen on the foreground. His shadow is also seen very faintly in the background of the scene depicting the new Bon's Burgers establishment and after the narrator describes Felix, a black and white drawing of Jack is shown before the screen goes completely black, with a very faint picture of Jack's distorted face is seen.
In the next tape, he is lastly shown very briefly inside of Little Bon's backpack when the essential items are discussed.
BunnyFarm & Guilty
Firstly, in the opening cutscene for the game, his portrait is seen hanging on the left wall of the establishment.
Then during the opening cutscene for Banny's minigame, his missing poster is shown very briefly right before the cutscene ends. After Sophie completes the minigame, an audio log from Susan Woodings plays. After mentioning a birthday party, Susan remarks that she finds it weird that the place was opened despite Jack's disappearance, and that she hopes he's alright, along with mentioning that Rosemary was asking the people working there if they had seen Jack. As this dialogue was spoken, a picture of Jack's face was shown on-screen.
Jack is then mentioned in Linda's diary, describing when Jack and Rosemary had their third child Molly, and that he and Felix had pitched their idea for a restaurant to CyberFun Tech. She also mentions that Felix was with Jack at the warehouse, and that he was also doing a favor for him too.
Then, after Sophie interacts with The Showbear, a scene plays out that shows a red rotary phone, with text and dialogue showing a conversation between Jack and Felix. Jack asks Felix to take Edd and Molly to a school party, since both him and Rosemary will be busy. Felix reluctantly agrees, and Jack thanks him. After the segment with the school party and the car accident play out, it then transitions back to the scene with the same rotary phone as before. The phone states that there are several missed calls, before a message from Jack is played. Jack angrily tells Felix to pick up the phone. He then tells him that its been 3 hours since he told him to get the children home, and that he needs to know where they are. As this scene plays out, a heavily distorted image of Jack's grinning face fades in.
In Guilty, Felix mentions Jack several times, fearfully asking himself what he's gonna tell Jack, and that he's been the best friend he's ever had.
